About me

I'm a full-stack software engineer currently building and maintaining a production financial management platform with Python and Django. I work on new features, debug production issues, and deliver clean, maintainable code.

Before software, I spent 5 years in logistics, including 3 years leading a team. During that time, I built a JavaScript tool to save us from rewriting the same emails to clients. Seeing 10 people using something I’d built every day inspired me to pursue software engineering full-time.

Turns out that my job description hadn’t changed that much: understanding the problem, coordinating with stakeholders, and not resting until the final product is shipped safe and sound.

    • Track ownership. Designed and implemented an ownership tracking system for a multi-step financial workflow in Django, replacing hardcoded assignments and giving managers clear visibility and control over responsibility at each step.
    • Send event driven emails. Built an event-driven email notification system end-to-end using Django lifecycle hooks and Celery, centralizing shared notification logic and allowing easy extension to new notification types.
    • Fix flaky celery tasks. Diagnosed a production race condition between database transactions and Celery tasks, eliminating intermittent failures caused by workers accessing uncommitted data.
    • Make imports forgiving. Built record-matching validation for bulk CSV imports, preventing duplicate records when client uploads contained updates to existing data.
    • Redesign ui. Redesigned and implemented user interfaces across 15+ modules using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Vue, modernizing navigation, layouts, menus, search, and filters to create a more polished and professional product experience.
    • Reuse search and filters. Consolidated duplicated search and filter interfaces into reusable Django template partials, improving consistency and maintainability across the application.
